Press conference held at the 'Sala del Carroccio' of the Roman Senate Palace, 05 October 2018
A press conference organised by the Associazione Culturale "Fryderyk Chopin" was held on the Capitol Hill, Rome, on October 5, 2018. The aim of this press conference was to present to the Roman media the autumn events of the Cultural Association founded by Maestro Marcella Crudeli, including the 28th season of the "Roma" International Piano Competition whose main partner is the Cuomo Foundation. The annual event will take place this year from October 23 to November 5. Another highlight of the year-end cultural events is the meeting of the International Federation of Chopin Societies, scheduled from November 2 to 5.
Here is an excerpt of the speech delivered by Maria Elena Cuomo, President of the Foundation during the Capitol Hill Press Conference.
"Education is the cornerstone of the Foundation: education has many aspects, from the most rudimentary to the most sophisticated.
Among the subjects of education, the Art which remains the most sophisticated, holds a special place.
Of all the Arts, Music is surely the one that touches the greatest number of individuals because it speaks directly to the senses and to the soul. Music does not need to be learned or to be known to touch us...
Since Music is a form of education, supporting talented young pianists is crucial for us. Through the "Roma" competition, they achieve recognition for their training, hard work and performance."
