The "2nd Conference of Autism & Mental Handicap - Monaco", organized by the association Monaco Disease Power (MDP) with the Cuomo Foundation’s contribution, was held on November 23 at the Lycée Technique et Hotelier, Monaco. Among the medical experts and officials, present for the occasion alongside HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, Mr. Francisco A. Diaz Lison, CEO of the Cuomo Foundation, represented the Foundation during this program.
Throughout the day, presentations were made by specialists in psychiatric and paediatric medicine, who came to the Principality upon the invitation of Mrs. Muriel Natali-Laure, President of the organizing association. The aim of the conference was to present the latest advances in screening, care and follow-up of autism. The notion of "social inclusion" remained the recurring theme of the day.
Since 2012, the Cuomo Foundation has been a partner of Monaco Disease Power. In particular, it supported the construction of the Maison d’Amélie, founded and managed by the MDP association in the city of Annot, France. The foundation remains involved in the maintenance of this respite home, dedicated to children and young adults with disabilities.
