Cuomo Foundation

Since its inception, the Cuomo Foundation has actioned and supported projects around the world that have enabled the disadvantaged, particularly the young, to a better life, a better education and a better future.

 

 

The Foundation's principle aims are to:

  • Enable and assist in developing and sustaining academic, sporting, cultural and artistic opportunities for disadvantaged children
  • Protect and care for the physical and mental welfare of abandoned children and those in need of all ages
  • Financial assistance in the field of school, sports, cultural and artistic development of deserving young people based on merit
  • Ensure judicial protection for citizens on low incomes

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

To action these statutes and aims, the Cuomo Foundation may :

  • Assign and create scholarships and awards.
  • Grant pensions and annuities.
  • Fund and manage projects for the establishment of ediucational centers, homes for the young and elderly, juvenile and sports facilities, health research centres and arts and remedial workshops.

Francisco A. Diaz Lison
CEO, THE CUOMO FOUNDATION

Francisco A. Diaz Lison involvement in the Humanitarian field extends over three decades. He has coordinated programmes and field operations in South America, Africa and Asia while collaborating with DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS and the UNICEF.
His ranges of experience are Epidemic Control, Water Hygiene, Social Work amid Armed Conflicts and Urban Social Empowerment.
As an independent advisor, he has shared his ground experience with various Paris-based educational institutions, notably ISFEC and SCIENCES PO on the fields of ‘Optimization of NGO Cooperation’, ‘Strategization of the use of Renewable Energies’ and ‘Cultural Diversity’.
Since 2013, he has been the operating Chief Executive Officer for the Cuomo Foundation, in Monaco and oversees its projects around the world in India, Bangladesh, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Benin, Ethiopia and Europe.
Francisco A. Diaz Lison holds Master’s degrees in ‘International & Local Solidarity’ and in ‘Strategic Management’, received respectively from Bordeaux and Paris Universities.

 

 

Ruth Gómez Corrales

Project Manager 

Born in Madrid, Spain, Ruth graduated from her home city with a Masters in Administration and Business Management. Fluent also in French she decided to commence her career in France, a country for which she always felt attracted.

After starting her professional career in the field of international import-export in France and Monaco, she entered the world of Private Banking in 2006 in Monaco.

Financial knowledge and mastery of foreign languages helped her to manage the assets of wealthy international customers for 8 years.

At the end of 2014 destiny brought her to meet Maria Elena Cuomo, who opened the doors to a world, which Ruth found more appealing.

A new path, where the priorities of humanitarian concern replaced the issues of financial gain. 

 

Marianne Ghione

Office Manager

Marianne graduated with a degree in Economics and Major Business Management from Sophia-Antipolis, Nice and begun her professional career as an Airport Commercial Agent.

After several years of activity, she decided to advance her career by completing a Masters Degree in International Finance, a course she completed in the South of France and London.

When, in the summer of 2001, after her stay in London, she returned to France, the world went amok. With the collapse of the old world order, opportunities in the financial world became scarce and unstable. She thus had to take her destiny into her own hands and reinvent herself. With a new career path selected, she advanced herself as a Commercial and Administrative Manager in the international field of customs/tax affairs and worked closely with high profile companies in the luxury and fashion industry. After 3 years she moved into the field of luxury real estate.

In her role as office manager for the Cuomo Foundation she is now able to utilise all her varied operational and people skills to optimal value and benefit of others. Very interested in cultural activities in her spare time she can be found creating objects with her own hands and frequently preparing and cooking for the delight of all.

 

Janaka Samarakoon

Communication Officer

A graduate of the Ecole du Louvre, Paris in Art History and Museology, Janaka has been working for over 8 years in the fields of Culture, Communication and New technologies.

After graduation, he started to work in Paris as a Web Project Manager. This position, based both in Europe and in Sri Lanka, his native country, saw him overseeing a web portal for digital cultural products for the use of libraries in the French-speaking world.

He then settled in the South of France, establishing his own Web Agency through which many graphic and web projects were implemented: web portals, corporate websites and print publications mainly related to the world of the Arts.

Janaka joined the Cuomo Foundation as their Communications officer in 2014.

Intensely making use of web tools, desktop publishing and connected objects, he is passionate about typography. He practices video and photography, approached either as communication tools or as creative projects. He is passionate about technological innovations and topicalities in the fields of popular culture and the arts and has a particular interest in American independent cinema and sacred baroque music.

 

Charles Kulandai

Representative & Project Manager - India

Charles was born in Thirumayam. Southern Tamil Nadu. He travelled to study at university in Pune, northern India. Graduating with a Bachelor degree in Philosophy (B.Ph.), he also gained a second bachelor degree in English. (B. A in English Literature). He continued his studies to be awarded a Masters in Business Administration (M.B.A).

He entered the professional world as a Human Resource Manager, working for the Taj chain of hotels in Chennai. In addition, he became very active and committed to being involved in local social work.

He eventually left the hotel industry to join the diocese of Chingleput, becoming Project Manager and Co-ordinater for social projects in the rural areas of Kancheepuram District.

In 2006 Charles was appointed as the representative for the Cuomo Foundation in Tamil Nadu. Working from the headquarters in Chennai, Charles co-ordinates and oversees the various actions and projects of the Cuomo Foundation in the Tamil Nadu region.
